Kukmin Ilbo commented that “Chairman Jang’s leadership evaluation is serious,” quoting Professor Jang Seung-jin of Kookmin University as saying, “His actions are completely out of step not only with the broader public opinion but also with what even People Power Party supporters want to see in politics.”

For reference, since 2020 the highest approval rating ever recorded by Gallup for a People Power Party leader was 52%, achieved by then–emergency committee chair Han Dong-hoon in January 2024. Jang Dong-hyuk’s current 26% matches the lowest level recorded just before former party leader Kim Gi-hyeon resigned in late November 2023.
